Course modules spanned a wide range of subject areas including advanced object oriented (Java) programming, advanced databases, human-computer interaction (HCI) and software engineering. I regularly undertook practical work individually and in teams, for which I had to meet strict deadlines.
Also covered in the course were career management skills, including delivering presentations, team working, project planning and negotiation.
Course modules included Visual Basic programming, software development methodologies and relational database management systems.

Awards
Myself and a partner won first place and a £150 cash prize for giving the best e-business pitch at a presentation sponsored by Accenture in the first year of my degree.

Proficient in the use of a whole range of computer programs, aside from those mentioned previously, I am more than capable of undertaking advanced tasks in Microsoft Office 97-2007, OpenOffice/LibreOffice, DreamWeaver, JBuilder, BlueJ and LaTeX.
Advanced understanding of various computer operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 95-7, Ubuntu and Solaris.
Basic knowledge of various other computer languages/technologies, including Lisp, *nix command line, XSLT, OWL, RDF/RDFS, GWT, Java Servlets, JSP and Ruby (on Rails).
Good knowledge of computer hardware and diagnostics.
Good knowledge of the Android OS and related devices. I regularly install and debug custom software on my own Android phone.
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Interests
Running: I participate in running races, ranging from 5k's to half marathons.
Football: I play in an 11-a-side league and also in a 6-a-side league.
Rock Climbing: I am a member of a few indoor climbing walls.
Tenpin Bowling: I represented my university in the national finals in my first year, where we finished 2nd overall.
